By the end of 2024, I suspect that AI tools like ChatGPT, and CopyAI will have installed plagiarism checkers into their tools to do it automatically. However, I also suspect that this may degrade the quality of outputs and a tremendous effort will need to be undertaken to correct the issue.
In the interim, Grammarly's plagiarism checker will become a staple tool.

7. Job Cuts: AI Set to Replace 5% of Worldwide Workforce by 2024, PwC Study Reveals
In a recently conducted survey by PwC, it was discovered that roughly a quarter of global CEOs plan to reduce at least 5% of their workforce as a result of incorporating generative artificial intelligence (AI) into their operations. The survey, made public on January 15, collated insights from more than 4,700 CEOs hailing from 105 countries, and close to a third cited the use of generative AI in their business processes.
Interestingly, the report from PwC hints that companies putting job cuts into action for improved efficiency might counterbalance this by employing people in different divisions. As per the report by PwC, "While 14% of CEOs in the technology sector foresee workforce contraction in the upcoming year due to generative AI, 56% also foresee employment growth in 2024."
The findings reveal sectors like media, entertainment, banking, capital markets, and insurance are more predisposed to employment reductions resulting from generative AI. Conversely, industries including engineering, construction, technology, metals and mining seem to be less vulnerable to AI-induced dismissals.
The report also stated, an overwhelming 70% of CEOs predict that AI will redefine their business models within the next three years, signifying an urgent need for their workforce to learn and master new skills in that period.
While there is optimism of job redeployment, Google latest announcement of 30,000 possible layoffs cause calls of concern. As reported by Business Today, the giant is looking to reassign or let go of 30,000 workers in the ad sales units whose jobs were automated by Google's new AI based ad tools.
The question is, did Google train its AI on their staff's work before laying them off and was permission given or even needed?
While we don’t know for sure, what we do know is that there is financial incentive for employers to clone employees to reduce headcount.
